 The Council of Elders

The Council of Elders (NFBPC) of National fellowship of Born-again Pentecostal churches of Uganda is an organ that t akes custody, supervises and facilitates the Unity of the Spirit & Sovereignty of the Church.   It   was rolled out in 2010 in the Fellowship, by Apostle Dr. Alex Mitala, then the General Overseer of National Fellowship of Born-again Pentecostal Churches of Uganda (NFBPC) and director to Back to the Bible Truth (BBT). 

The original group of elders included: 1. Bp. Tom Ebraim Okello (Lira), Pr. Peter Sozi (Kampala), Bp. Steven Banan One (Kapchorwa), Bp. Emmanuel Etochu (Teso), Bp. Dr. Harry Morris Bukenya, Bp. Joel Bukenya, Bp. Steven Ddamulira Mayanja, Bp. Robert Kasaija (Kampala), Bp. Emmanuel Winyi (Mukono), Bp. Jasper Safari (Mbarara), Bp. Aloysius Kiiza (Kabale), P’Okeny (Gulu), and Paul Lubale (Busoga). it has been expanded from the original 24 to 50 members, and will grow to 72 Elders.  The National Council of Elders is chaired by Bishop Tom Ebraim Okello, deputized bt Pastor Peter Sozi, with Bishop Joel Bukenya as Treasurer.  

There has been introduced Eldership Committees to monitor various sectors. They include: Church Growth affairs, Commissioning, Consecrations and Ordinations, Electoral Processes, Doctrine, Discipline and Restoration, Family Affairs, Finances, Mobilization, Governance, and Projects and Property committees. 

Through Eldership, the Fellowship is kept guided and harmonised
